Opportunities and challenges facing the development of the comprehensive utilization of waste tire recycling machine equipment in China
Third, the gap between the amount of waste rubber produced and the amount of processing is a long-term market opportunity. First of all, the treatment and utilization of waste rubber have not achieved full coverage as a whole. Although the overall scale of my country's waste rubber comprehensive utilization industry is relatively large, all waste rubber has not been effectively treated, and nearly half of the waste rubber has not been recycled. Calculated from the number of tires, the number of waste tires produced nationwide in 2017 reached 370 million, weighing 13.5 million tons. In 2017, reclaimed rubber and rubber powder recycled and used scrap tires to reach 6.78 million tons, including prototype utilization and thermal cracking applications, which are about 8 million tons, but there is still a long way to go to solve the total amount of 13.5 million tons of waste tires. The gap between the demand for recycling of waste tires and the actual processing capacity is still relatively large, and the country and society need to further increase their attention and investment to solve more and more problems of green recycling of waste tires.
According to incomplete statistics, the output of recycled rubber in China in 2017 reached 4.8 million tons, an increase of 5% year-on-year; the output of rubber powder reached 700,000 tons, an increase of 8% year-on-year; the main material for the production of recycled rubber was rubber powder, and 4.6 million tons of recycled rubber required With 4.05 million tons of rubber powder, together with 700,000 tons of directly applied rubber powder, the output of rubber powder reached 4.75 million tons. China is not only the world's largest producer of recycled rubber but also the world's largest producer of rubber powder. However, the main raw material used in the production of reclaimed rubber in my country is rubber powder, which is mainly scrapped tires from all-steel tires. A large number of small car tires and miscellaneous rubber have not been processed. In 2018, the actual output of reclaimed rubber will be significantly lower than in 2017, mainly due to the decline in output caused by the forced closure of some companies in environmental protection, with Shanxi and Hebei as the main force. According to preliminary estimates by the Association, this part of the production capacity is expected to be around 500,000 tons.
